Pamada is the Project Director for the Kyoto Energy Park Scone eco-generating energy devices to provide electricity from renewable sources such as the sun, wind, and water near Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW. Kyoto Energy Park are working with CSIRO on trialing smart grids technology.
When complete the Kyoto Energy Park will create electricity with the following noticeable benefits:
The measurable benefits will be:
Clean and renewable alternatives to conventional forms of electricity production such as coal and gas
CO2 reductions that are equivalent to removing
59,000 cars off the roads
An estimate of 6.5 million tonnes of CO2
gases abated over the initial life of the
technology proposed
Clean and renewable energy production free from other air pollutants such as coal dust, heavy metal compounds, carbon monoxide, sulphur and nitrogen oxides
Production of enough green energy to power approximately 47,000 households each year
Reduction in water consumption in the Hunter Area by approximately 600 million litres of potable water per annum (~10 Olympic Swimming Pools every day!)
Short and long term jobs, reinforcing the Hunter
as a region of high skills in the generation
of Electricity.
Reinforcing the Hunter and Greater Newcastle region as Australia’s Renewable Energy Centre of Excellence
KEP Australia represents a positive step towards achieving a 20% Renewable Energy Target (RET) proposed by the Australian Government in 2007.
An estimated 6.5 million tonnes of CO2 abated over the life of the technology proposed.
